About Us: Southern Star Interior Lining is a premier plastering business dedicated to delivering high-quality craftsmanship with attention to detail. We specialise in residential and commercial projects, offering a wide range of services including wall patching, repairs, suspended ceiling installations, partition walls, ornate cornice installations, and more.


Job Description:  

We are inviting expressions of interest from motivated and enthusiastic individuals looking to begin their career as a First-Year Apprentice in the plastering industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a school-aged individual eager to learn and gain hands-on experience. As an apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship from professionals, mastering all aspects of plastering from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various plastering tasks, including wall patching, repairs, and installations.
  • Help install suspended ceilings, partition walls, and bulkheads.
  • Support the team in ornate and decorative cornice installations.
  • Aid in the repair and replacement of water-damaged plasterboard.
  • Contribute to creating custom plaster features tailored to client specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to NSW safety regulations and business policies at all times.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required, including protective safety shoes and other necessary equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.


Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in plastering.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of tools and materials used in plastering (preferred, but not required).
  • Valid NSW White Card (or willingness to obtain).
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to responsibly follow Work Safe policies and procedures.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
